ACHIEVEMENTS OF HOPE'S HOUSE KENYA SINCE 2014

Hope's House Kenya was founded by Pastor Peter Kuyuni in the year 2014 with a vision to rescue orphans and transform communities through Christ.

a) CARE FOR ORPHANS (2014 - To Date)

Since 2014, we have cared for 23 orphans. Through God's grace and your support, some are now employed and self-reliant - working as mechanics, drivers and other professions. Others are still continuing with their education in Secondary Schools, Colleges and Universities.

b) REGISTRATION AND HEAD OFFICE (2015 & 2020)

We officially registered Hope House Foundation Kenya in the year 2015. In the year 2020, we built our main office at Endebess Location, Duka Moja Market, which now serves as our headquarters for all operations.

c) STARTING A PRIMARY SCHOOL (2016)

In the year 2016, we started a *Primary School in Kwanza Location, near Kwanza Market Center. The school was started to provide quality Christian education to orphans and vulnerable children from the community who could not afford school fees.

d) BUILDING THE CHILDREN'S HOME (2018)

In the year 2018, we built Hope's House Kenya Children's Home at Namanjalala Market Center. In the same year, we gave admission to 30 new orphans below the age of 10 years, giving them a family, shelter, food, education and parental love.

THE HISTORY OF HOPE'S HOUSE KENYA - HOW GOD USED MOLDABLE CLAY

By Pastor Peter Kuyuni and Elizabeth Chavoustie Founders

1. THE BEGINNING - YEAR 2013

My journey of caring for orphans did not start in 2014. It started in 2013 when God placed a burden in my heart to care for 3 orphans in my own home. These were:

- David Erukudi

- His brother Eli Ochon

- And their friend Pius Elila

I was caring for them with very little, but with much love, trusting God to provide.

2. A DIVINE CONNECTION ON TWITTER - APRIL 2014

In April 2014, through Twitter, I met a Godly woman from the USA, Mrs. Elizabeth Chavoustie (also known as Elizabeth Paige). She was sharing the Word of God about "Moldable Clay" from Jeremiah. The message deeply blessed me - that we are the clay and God is the Potter. If we are not moldable, we can lose our salvation. We must allow God to mold us. After that message, we started a Godly conversation. She shared with me her deep challenges - that her family was bankrupt and living in a rental house, having lost their former home. I encouraged her, prayed with her, and I called my intercessory prayer team to join me to fast and pray for her family. Every Friday, without fail, I sent her an email of encouragement.

3. A MIRACLE OF RESTORATION - SEPTEMBER 2014

In September 2014, God answered our prayers. Her family was miraculously restored to their former home. She was very surprised because during all those months I had prayed with her, I had never asked her for money. She told me, "You are different from other Africans." At that time, she had nothing material to give, in fact, she had just come from bankruptcy.

4. THE VISION FOR 20 ORPHANS

After God blessed Elizabeth and restored her family, she wanted to help some church leaders with Bible scholarships. But I convinced her to instead help the three orphans under my care. She suggested I take them to a nearby children's home. But I had heard that in many orphanages in Kenya, children are not cared for well. I wrote to her this email on *Sunday, November 16, 2014:

> From: Peter Kuyuni

> To: elizabethpaige4him@gmail.com

> Subject: Orphanage and home

> The orphanage, or home is not in our village but it is a bit far to find it. But I hear some of the orphanages and homes in Kenya children are not cared well. I thought it this way, to find a good place and build a home and I take care of them while they go in government schools, because at primary level in Kenya education is free. 20 orphans cannot be hard for us to take care. Trans-Nzoia county, we do farm maize, so one hectare of maize farming can be more than enough for 20 children to consume. There is nothing hard if we trust God. I can start myself from my home. I am afraid if I take children away from me and they are mistreated, I will not have peace! What is your suggestion?

> May God bless you and your family in Jesus name

> Your brother in Christ

> Pastor Peter Kuyuni

On November 23, 2014, Elizabeth replied:

> I don't know about orphanages there, but often when people who are not Christians care for orphaned children, they treat them like they are trash. They feel burdened by them and don't attempt to show them the love they have never known. Many of the children are also very difficult because they are hurt and angry, sometimes abused, and they act out, which makes it very hard for an unbeliever to treat them well. I say whatever you have in your heart to do, God will be with you! I am contacting my brother-in-law, even now, who is a very wealthy man and a new convert, and share your story with him. Maybe he will be moved to help, or get others involved too. How much would it cost to build an orphanage in your town? And to have believers care for the children? I will see what I can do. God be praised! You have such a beautiful heart! God be with you in all of your endeavors!!

> Elizabeth Paige.

That reply gave me courage to move forward.

5. RESCUING STREET CHILDREN - LATE 2014 TO 2015

After that message, Elizabeth allowed me to search for more orphans and street children from Kitale town. Some were in primary school and the older ones were in secondary school. In January 2015, our children filled the schools in my village of Bidii - Bidii Primary, Maziwa Primary, Pombo Primary, Makunga Primary and Lessos Primary. Buying uniforms, books, admission fees and other requirements was a very great expense. The whole of 2015, we spent a lot of money. Some headteachers even added extra costs that were not meant for children, because they suspected I had money from America. Because of this challenge, I prayed to God to give us our own boarding school.

6. THE BIRTH OF HOPE AND LIGHT ACADEMY - 2016

God answered. When Elizabeth Chavoustie did a big fundraising in Colorado, she sent the money. With that money, we bought land and started simple mud structures. In January 2016, I withdrew all my children from those village schools and brought them to one school - Hope and Light Academy, which is situated in a different location, in Kwanza Sub-County, near Kwanza Market.

From that time, the school has not only helped our orphans but also other vulnerable orphans around the community.

This is how Hope's House Kenya / Hope House Foundation Kenya started - from 3 orphans in my house in 2013, to a divine Twitter message about Moldable Clay in 2014, to a family restored in America, to 20 children, and now to many children who have completed school and are working as teachers, tailors, masons, drivers and business people.

To God be all the Glory.

I am Eli Ochon, born on 3rd August, 2003. I lost both my parents to HIV. I became an orphan with no hope, no home, and no future. I thought my life had ended.

In 2014, you brought me to Hope's House when I was only 11 years old. You did not see me as an orphan or a burden. You saw me as your son.

Dad Pastor Peter, you became my father. You taught me how to pray, how to work hard, how to forgive, and how to believe in God. Hope's House became my home. You fed me when I was hungry, you took me to school, you paid my fees, you bought me clothes, and you wiped my tears.

Today I am in Secondary School. I am writing this letter myself. I am alive, I am educated, and I have hope because you chose to love me.

Thank you for not abandoning me. Thank you for loving an HIV orphan as your own child. I will make you proud.

I will forever be your son.

Your Loving Son,

Eli Ochon

My name is Faith Masulia. I am currently in Secondary School, writing to sincerely thank Hope's House Kenya for your great love for me.

My father died while I was still very young, and I was left as a vulnerable child with no one to properly care for me. I had no hope of going to school, no uniform, no books, and I was often sent home for school fees. My future looked completely dark.

Hope's House Kenya rescued me and took me in as your own child. You gave me a safe home at Hope and Light, food, clothes, love, and you took me to school. You have paid my fees from primary and now you are paying for my secondary education.

Because of you, I am still in school learning and dreaming of becoming a teacher one day. You teach me about Jesus, you encourage me to work hard, and you remind me that even though my father died when I was young, God is my Father.

Thank you Pastor Peter, mamas, and all donors who support us. I promise to study hard and make you proud. May God bless Hope's House Kenya abundantly.

With Gratitude

Faith Masulia

I, Sheila Naliaka, with much joy write to appreciate Hope's House Kenya for the great help you gave me since 2014.

You have educated me from primary to high school, and now I am still in college at Kitale Technical College pursuing a course in Secretariat. I am close to completing and becoming a professional secretary because you believed in me.

Even when I was stubborn and slow in learning, you were patient with me. You taught me about Jesus, discipline, and hard work. You are my family.

I promise to work hard in college and make Hope's House proud. I pray that God will bless every donor who pays our fees and brings us food.

Thank you for rescuing me from the street.

I, Kevin Nato, write with a grateful heart to appreciate Hope's House Kenya.

In 2014, I was a hopeless boy living on the street in Kitale with no future, no school, and no one to call family. Hope's House picked me from the street, gave me food, shelter, love, and took me to school.

Because of your sacrifice, I went from primary to high school and then to college. Today, by God's grace, I am employed as a Medical Engineer here in Kitale town. I am able to work, earn a living, and help my community. This would have never been possible without you.

Thank you to Pastor Peter and all donors and mothers at Hope's House who clothed me, prayed for me, and never gave up on me. You changed my story from street boy to professional.

May God richly bless Hope's House Kenya for transforming lives.

Sincerely,

Kevin Nato

My name is Nancy Nasimiyu. I write today with tears of joy to thank Hope's House Kenya for making me who I am today.

After my dad died, my mother remained as a single parent with no job and no ability to pay my school fees. I was hopeless, out of school, and my future was dark. In 2014, Hope's House came to our rescue and took me in like their own daughter.

You paid my school fees from primary to high school and then to Teachers Training College when my mother could not. You gave me books, uniform, food, spiritual guidance and taught me that God is my Father when my earthly father died.

Today, by the grace of God, I am a qualified teacher working at Bidii Primary School. I am now able to teach other children and also support my single mother.

You turned my pain into purpose. You gave a poor widow's daughter a profession.

Thank you Pastor Peter, mamas at Hope's House, and all donors. May God bless you to continue rescuing more children like me.

Sincerely,

Nancy Nasimiyu
